A white mounted mole is a special and rare collector's item. The white colour is caused by albinism, a genetic abnormality that is virtually unheard of in moles. Because these animals live underground and have a very low survival rate when they are albino, they are rarely found. A stuffed albino mole is therefore not only a striking piece of natural history, but also a unique museum-worthy object that arouses curiosity and admiration.
