Recently mounted mountain parakeet. The rain parakeet or mountain parakeet (Polytelis anthopeplus) is a bird in the Psittaculidae (parrots of the Old World) family. They occur in the wild in Australia, mainly in the south-western part of Western Australia and in the Adelaide area.
