This set of antique small bowls comes from maritime finds and bears the marks of a long history spent underwater. The thin earthenware is finished with a subtle glaze that has a soft, lustrous sheen, whilst the natural weathering gives each piece a unique character. Presented on slender metal pedestals, the shapes and the beautiful patina are shown to their best advantage. A particularly decorative object that stylishly combines history and timeless elegance.
Probably North-West European white-glazed faience or creamware, dating from circa 1750–1825, recovered from a shipwreck or coastal find in the North Sea.
