Écorché legs, c. 1940–1950 Anatomical écorché model of the human legs, made of plaster and originating from a plaster workshop in Brussels. This educational model was used in art academies, universities and medical schools for the study of muscle structures, anatomy and the study of proportions. The detailed representation of the musculature made it an important aid for teaching drawing, painting and sculpture.
